It's late, I'm tired, and I ran out of pre-written blog entries, so this one's gonna be quick.
I feel bad giving Laura Veirs such short shrift on a late night, but perhaps I chose her because she was an easy choice. Of COURSE Laura Veirs. Her 2007 album Saltbreakers (on which this song can be heard) is fantastic nearly from start to finish. She's a great, independent, local (-ish, Portland) artist who's bursting with talent. And her videos are super cool too.
I admit, I was immediately dismissive of this as hippie crap. But I listened twice, and I actually like her. :)
